Auctions On The Net

Comments, questions, suggestions?

Getting Started: Whenever text appears in blue or purple, it is a link, click on it and it will take you somewhere. Hit the "Back" key on the browser screen if you get lost. It is typically at the top left corner of the view screen.
1. "Auctions" Across the top of the window is a table with links to most of the important pages on the site. The "Auctions" is where you view items available.  Once there scroll down the "Auctions" page and view "Featured Auctions" or "Auction Categories." With each "Auction Category" you view a number telling you how many items are posted there. To view the list of auctions, click on the category name. You now have a one line description of all auctions, click on the Title Line and you will be able to view a complete description and color photograph.

2. "Personal Stores" are a place where the Sellers can post all their inventory. This is a feature that Ebay does not offer.  For a minimal cost you can have your entire inventory available.  Soon, the items will be linked to the auction categories, so both auction and store items will be visible when searching categories.

3. "Register Fees Rules" Before your buy or sell, you must register.  Click here, fill out the form. You will be e-mailed back a password.  It typically takes 15 minutes to receive your password. The rules of the auctions and disclaimer are here for you to read and agree too, before becoming a registered user. Violations of rules can result in your password being revoked.

4. "Password Lookup" Forget your password, come here.

5. "User FeedbackBid Tracker" These are features for Buyers.  You must register first and this link takes you to the registration.  User Feedback  allows you to leave feedback for other registered users at the site.  You are encouraged to leave comments regarding the quality of your transaction.  Bid Tracker allows you to track auctions of items that your are interested in or will e-mail you when items you designate become available in auctions.  This is a feature that Ebay does not offer.

6. "Getting Started" you are here.

7.  "Seller Setup / Add, Edit, Delete Auctions and Personal Stores" Before you start imputing auctions you need to "Login." This link takes you to the login page.  The Seller Setup allows you to put in contact information, shipping information and other items that you will want available to the Buyer for every auction.  By filling this out, you won't have to input it every time you post an auction.  Add, Edit, Delete Auctions and Personal Stores allows you to input new auctions, edit existing auctions, relist expired auctions or ad inventory to your Personal Store.

8. Homepage, for all you people who are familiar with Antiqueguns.com, this is the same home page you have always been familiar with.  If you get lost go here and start following the links again.

9. Personal Stores this is the classified section that has been visible at antiqueguns.com for over two years now.  You will find the links to the "Ask the Experts Discussion Boards," "Dealers," "Parts Dealers, "Photo Identification Pages" and many other useful services that antiqueguns.com offers.

10. Other Features: Many other useful services are available, as you get familiar with the site, you will find them.  Many new features and modifications will be made with the site over the next few months.  Your feed back both positive and negative is appreciated, if you think of a better way to do things let us know.  We are very concerned about making Antiqueguns.com the most user friendly auction site on the web.

11. Additional Categories:  If you have items to sell that do not fit any of the existing categories, I will consider expanding to additional categories, particularly if you agree to post a large number of items to the new category.

12. Allowable items:  This page is designed to sell Antique Military Collectibles.  Foreign and domestic firearms with patent dates prior to 1945, modern day replicas or second generation copies of antique firearms are also welcome.  All military collectible accouterments, old west and other collectibles from the early 20th century and before are encouraged. Items that are not allowed are Modern Day Assault type weaponry, Armor Piercing Ammunitions, Illegal Firearms, Automatic Weapons and any Racist Literature or Propaganda. Any such items that are listed they will be removed.

13. Legal Age and Legal Authority: You must be of legal age in the state you reside to register for this site, for most states that is age 21.  You cannot be a convicted felon.  All firearms manufactured after 1898 must be shipped through a licensed FFL Holder.  New laws have recently been passed covering the sale and shipment of such items, you must comply with such laws.  Anyone failing to abide by current state and federal laws and we find out about them will loose their password privilege.  If you are not certain about the legal authority for a certain weapon, contact your local office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
