Colt Model 1851 Navy, Iron Triggerguard and Backstrap, .36 caliber, 72,003 matching.
Colt Model 1851 Navy, .36 caliber, 202,XXX, matching. smooth brown patina.
Remington Ringtrigger 4 Barrel Pepperbox, #7812x
1271 Remington New Model Single Action Army, .44. #1271x
Whitney Navy, Second Model, Second Type, .36 caliber, 9908 smooth brown patina, but generally crisp edges and attractive.
W. Irving Single Shot Deringer, made by James Reid, c. 1862, .22 caliber, part octagon, part round. Brass frame with a spur trigger, and sideswing to load. Marked W. Irving on the top of the barrel, metal is mottled gray. A little roughness on the top and one side of the barrel, but over fully functional and in very good condition. No serial number visible.
Adams Percussion Pistol, this is the English made percussion pistol in a what looks to be a large .44 caliber. No serial number visible
Remington 1861 Army, (Old Model), .44, #1394x This tired old workhorse was obviously used for many years. There is no pitting, but the cylinder shows use and the nipples show they have been fired many thousands of times. The grips are replaced and undersized, they are a little lighter in color than the standard grips. The biggest negative of the gun is that about 1/2" of the end of the barrel has been loped off.
Remington Beals Navy, .36 caliber, # 5253X smooth brown patina, original grips, with less than average handling marks over most of the gun. Better than average mechanics. The grips are slightly undersized. It appears from shrinkage. The nipples show wear, probably not fireable.
Several others were also taken. Probably missing in the San Jose. It was a real amateur burglary, they stole my son's school backpack to load the guns in. But I have several good sets of finger prints.
STOLEN: 36 calibre New Model Remington Revolver with the Civil War serial number of 29357. This weapon rates good with pitting on the right side of the gun. civilwr@in-motion.net

I am trying to locate information and a photograph of a set of pistols once owned by Maj.Gen. J.B. McPherson. I live in Clyde, Ohio, the home town of this famous General. He was the highest ranking Union officer killed in the Civil War. Died in the Battle of Atlanta, July 22, 1864.
This set of pistols were once here in Clyde. They were owned by William H. Blair, publisher of the Clyde Reporter newspaper. Year not known. How he acquired these is also not known. In September of 1973 a company by the name of Antique Armory Inc. purchased the entire gun collection of Mr. Locko. The pistols,a matched engraved presentation pair, in a wood box. Maker not known. This set of pistols were presented to McPherson while in Mississippi, by Beall & Wilber, cotton buyers of Mississippi. Their names are engraved on the pistols along with McPherson's name.Would it be possible that anyone knows were this set of pistols are? I am writing a book on the General and I would like a photograph of this set of pistols along with what kind of pistols they are. Any help you can give me would be most useful. John D. Stilley Musket I am searching for any information about a gunsmith named Peter Stilley. He lived from 1777-1819, and was a captain of the Volunteers in the war of 1812. I heard years ago of a musket made by him turning up at an estate sale in Ohio, but could not get it at the time. Peter was born and spent his life in Jefferson County, PA, just south of Pittsburgh. I am J. C. Stilley, a direct descendant, and would be very interested in any information about Peter or any of his work. email: mssfjcs@usaor.net, phone # (412) 238-5414. 17 Oct 1996
