I have a Cavalry saber that a friend says is in Thillmon's Cavalry and Artillary Sabers, and am wondering if this Officer's saber is rare in manufacture.?.It is shorter than normal and it's blade is plain & un etched..there is just a small amount of engraving on the pommel and the branches..Although it is an 1840 blade the grip looks like an 1860 light Cavalry saber..There is a King's head on the ricasso,I believe to be the Solingen maker Gebruder-Weyersburg....I don't have a copy of this book and am wondering just how rare this Cavalry saber is, and it's relative value in comparison to say a Sheble and Fisher? thanks John
