I wanted to ask you about your posting on leather scabbards. I have an 1860 cav saber that is in rather nice shape, but I also own a model 1850 Foot with leather scabbard. I have been told that you can use the kiwi black on both the scabbard on the 1850, and the handle on the 1860. I wasn't sure how well that would work on the handle of the 1860 considering the braid wrapping. I was told you just simply wipe off the excess from the wrapping, but I have never heard of doing this prior to now so I thought I would inquire as to your opinion.
