The factory inscription says, WILD IKE.  So who is the Wild Ike, who this was inscribed for?  One of the most infamous Ikes was Ike Clanton, of renown from the Battle of the OK Corral. (Wikipedia)  “Joseph Isaac Clanton (1847 – June 1, 1887) was a member of a loose association of outlaws known as The Cowboys who clashed with lawmen Wyatt, Virgil and Morgan Earp as well as Doc Holliday. On October 26, 1881, Clanton was present at the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral in the boomtown of Tombstone, Arizona Territory but was unarmed and ran from the gunfight, in which his 19-year-old brother Billy was killed.”

Ike Clanton had a notorious reputation and was killed in 1887 in a gun fight over cattle rustling.  No way to know for sure if this was Ike Clanton’s revolver, but the model dates to the early 1870’s.  It was factory converted with factory inscription, a process that took some time and usually only done for a person serious about his guns.  These nickeled guns often went to the Southwest particularily Rim Fires.  So it is 50/50 this gun was factory inscribed for Ike Clanton.

Shipping does not include insurance through courier. We carry our own insurance but there is a $1000 deductible. If you would like your box insured through the shipping company, the cost is $10 and you add an additional $1 for every hundred dollars’ worth of insurance that you want. $1000 insured value = $20.
