$2,500.00

079-1120-9150, Hartford Colt M-1851 Navy, period inscribed on grip, LT HINSON.  The gun shows 75% tarnished silver on brass.  75% strong scene.  20% medium to thin barrel blue.  The markings are crisp, the metal edges are crisp.  #98xxx matching on bottom of gun, cylinder, lever and the wedge.  The grips show 70% original varnish where the owner name was professionally carved on the left grip. The name is also lightly carved on the right grip in much smaller font size.  This gun was made in 1861 and there guns are treasured by collectors since thes guns were made just prior to the breakout of the Civil War and many were purchased by Southernors in anticipation of the breakout of the Civil War. There is a high chance this officer was a Confederate due to date of manufacture and the type of carved inscription.  I have seen similar inscriptions about a half dozen times, and all the others were attributed to Confederate soldiers.   [/p][p]
I originally handled this revolver several years ago, it was purchased by a Pawn Shop from South Carolina, directly from the family.  (I purchased it from the owner of the Pawn Shop.)  There was some paperwork, apparently a tag that was on the gun showing the name of the fellow who brought the gun into the Pawn Shop. The fellow who brought in the gun had the last name, HINSON.  There are 3 officers from South Carolina with that name, so we are not certain which Hinson is the correct one. [/p][p]
This is an fine conditioned Hartford Colt 1851 Navy.

We accept Check, Money Order, Credit Card, Wire, etc.

If you send a Cashier’s Check or Money order, items will get shipped immediately. If you send a personal check, we will wait for the check to clear before shipping. Please send an invoice with payment, it makes it easier to keep track of payments that way. Also, please be sure your shipping address is correct.

CREDIT CARD FEES: Domestic: 3.5%. International: 6.0%

WIRES: If sending a wire add $30

INSURANCE: We will only insure through the mail carrier when specifically asked to.

Shipping does not include insurance through courier. We carry our own insurance but there is a $1000 deductible. If you would like your box insured through the shipping company, the cost is $10 and you add an additional $1 for every hundred dollars’ worth of insurance that you want. $1000 insured value = $20. We do our best to package items as secure as we can, in the previous 6 years we have had 3 guns broken (all 3 were muskets) and we have shipped thousands of guns. USPS is difficult to get money out of even if you do insure through the USPS.

Cost: US $1 per $100 in value, plus $10. Ex. $1500 Insurance = $15 + $10 = $25
