GR79-0821-5247, British East India Company Model F Musket. BLOWOUT

GR79-0821-5247, I was mistaken with the first description I posted and have since learned quite alot about this rifle.

This gun is actually a British East India Company Model F. These Muskets were issued to troops of the British Raj, probably those troops appointed from the native population as it has company markings in Sanskrit of the Devanagari form. The Proof Marks on the barrel, Crown over GP and Crown over V are the proof marks that all firearms from Great Britain had from ca 1837 to 1901 so this particular one is likely manufactured in the 1840’s or perhaps ’50’s.That Lion holding a crown seen on the lockplate is the symbol of the British East India Company. The Caliber is .75, made for round ball and the barrel length is 39″. The bayonet has native markings and was most likely manufactured on site in India after British EIC pattern. This was actually the first purpose-built mass-produced percussion musket in the world, manufactured in the hundreds upon hundreds of thousands back in the day.

Shipping does not include insurance through courier. We carry our own insurance but there is a $1000 deductible. If you would like your box insured through the shipping company, the cost is $10 and you add an additional $1 for every hundred dollars’ worth of insurance that you want. $1000 insured value = $20. USPS is difficult to get money out of even if you do insure through the USPS.
