079-0122-7044, Remington M-1875 with 7 1/2 inch barrel, 44-40, made 1875-1889. This was a a spectacular gun that had been in a fire in the last 25 years. This is part of a large batch of gund dug out of the ruins of the burned propety. This gun was NOT burned, but sat in chemical laden mud and water for several months until it was recovered. This was a 95% finish gun. It retains nitre blue on hammer, you can see 90% coverage of blue, but a couple of the frame screws were replaced because all parts were frozen when the gun was recovered. The grips were not burned but extremely heated and dried and slightly shrunk. Functional mechanics, rifled bore with no big spots, but scattered fine spots, that may all be surface spots. The gun shows heavy pitting primarily on one side, where it lay. Good overall.
