079-0523-8405, Winchester M-1876 3rd model Octagon Barrel Rifle in DESIRABLE 50 Express Caliber. With the dust cover so marked. 90% barrel and magazine tube blue, 80% frame blue with light thinning from carry wear. Rich rainbow hues on hammer and lever. Light bumps and dings to the stocks, very light wear marks and use marks on the metal. The gun is written as 50 Express. The rear sight is not mentioned in the letter. These sights were put on 76 rifles in order to ship them to South Africa. Some will letter with this sight. The sight could have been put on at the factory and not mentioned or could have been applied by the dealer planning on shipping the gun to South Africa. The sights are rare and very desirable. The bore has crisp edged rifling and the grooves are leading with fine patches of surface residue. It has a fine wood to metal fit. Excellent exterior. One of the most desirable of all types of Winchester M-1886 Rifles.
