079-0621-7665, Remington NM Army .44, 6 shot. BLOWOUT

079-0621-7665, Remington NM Army .44, 6 shot.  Period inscribed initials on triggerguard.  JAJ is initials.  The only sources I have been able to identify that marked initials on bottom triggerguard are Buffalo Soldiers.  There is not proof that is were this gun came from, but the inscription came from somewhere and there must be a reason it was on the triggerguard.  The gun shows dark patina on metal surfaces.  Crisp tight mechanics, with strongly rifled bore, crisp edges with grips that are slightly undersized, probably from light cleaning.  Some original varnish exists on the grips. Some minor edge loss on bottom of grip. The screw eschtcheon has been replaced.  Scattered light pinpricks and bumps and dings.  Overall moderate use marks.  The bore is strongly rifled with a fine coating or residue that and a few widely scattere spots, very good to fine bore.  Est value: $1700
