This is a gun that has undergone professional restoration, they style of Tommy Haas Sr. He did a wonderful job of taking the gun back to original from the factory condition. He could re-blue parts to factory standards, the case color was usually completed by Turnbull. Which is fine quality, but can be distinguished from original case color when viewed by experienced collectors. The grips were often replaced and hammers were refinished or replaced. This gun has 90% reapplied case colors. Reapplied silver to the brass. The hammer shows slight wear to the checking. The grips show light cleaning, the blue on barrel and cylinder is 95% present with fine residue over the surface. The cylinder shows pins, but stamping on patent address is correct and stamped correctly. So in my opinion, the barrel, frame, grips and trigger-guard are original. The cylinder is possibly replaced, stamping looks correct, finish appears correct with overall honest light wear. The pins are 98% present and the cylinder shows only very slight wear. The nipples are probably replaced, very crisp and functional. The hammer has been refinished and possibly replaced. The reason I say the cylinder might be replaced is that it shows so little wear. Crisp tight action, also the silver on the brass has been reapplied. The screws old iron screws, most people that refinish guns do not pay attention to screws, they use modern hard steel screws. The numbers match, 10xxx on bottom of gun, wedge and no number on the back of cylinder. Crisp tight action, fine to excellent overall. Bright crisply rifled bore with patches of fine surface residue. Fine to excellent as configured.
