GR-1025-6709, Remington New Model Army. Id’d by serial number in Springfield Research to have been used by Pennsylvania 22nd Vol. Cavalry unit. History of the unit is below.

The gun is mostly grey with about 10% original blue remaining on the gun. Most of the blue is in protected places. Serial number 58,237 matches on the barrel and frame. There is a number on the cylinder but it does not match. This is not uncommon for Remington Revolvers. The underlying greys, thin blue, and patina on the cylinder match the rest of the gun perfectly. The cylinder has been with the gun a very very long time. The grips are original but have been slightly sanded and are undersized and show no cartouche. Crisp tight mechanics and very tight cylinder lock up. The bore is bright, shiny, crisply rifled with a little bit of residue. Fine condition bore.
