GR-1225-6739, Early Remington Old Model Army. BUY NOW

$1,800.00

GR-1225-6739, Remington Old Model Army .44 with full complement of sub-inspector initials and visible cartouche on the left grip. Overall the gun is mottled dark brown with clear markings, crisp edges but only traces of original blue finish. The grips show moderate bottom edge wear with one moderate chip on the left grip that is very old. Deep initials are carved into right grip RP and a fine coating of oil has been applied to the grips to prevent them from drying out and cracking. The revolver retains the original slotted rammer. The serial number is 31xx and that number matches on the barrel, cylinder, trigger-guard and frame. This gun would be considered a first model Old Model or a transitional gun from the Beals army to the Old Model. The feature of the cylinder front face sitting flush against the straight frame is only found on the Beals or early Old models. The gun shows moderate overall bumps and dings, just evidence of years of honest use. This is a nice example of an early Old Model. All the numbers match, inspector marks are all present and legible. It could have been found in the 1870s just like it now after being heavily used in the Civil War and following years. The mechanics are crisp and tight. The half cock is functional and the cylinder locks up very tight in the full cock position. Very good overall and much better than average for an early Old Model Army, these guns were issued early in the war and were heavily used.

PLEASE READ

We accept Check, Money Order, Credit Card, Wire, etc.

If you send a Cashier’s Check or Money order, items will get shipped immediately. If you send a personal check, we will wait for the check to clear before shipping. Please send an invoice with payment, it makes it easier to keep track of payments that way. Also, please be sure your shipping address is correct.

CREDIT CARD FEES: Domestic: 3.5%. International: 6.0%

WIRES: If sending a wire add $30

INSURANCE: We will only insure through the mail carrier when specifically asked to.

Shipping does not include insurance through courier. We carry our own insurance but there is a $1000 deductible. If you would like your box insured through the shipping company, the cost is $10 and you add an additional $1 for every hundred dollars’ worth of insurance that you want. $1000 insured value = $20. We do our best to package items as secure as we can, in the previous 6 years we have had 3 guns broken (all 3 were muskets) and we have shipped thousands of guns. USPS is difficult to get money out of even if you do insure through the USPS.

Cost: US $1 per $100 in value, plus $10. Ex. $1500 Insurance = $15 + $10 = $25
