GR79-0123-4487, Sharps Model 1863 Conversion. 50-701 Cal. 3 Groove Rifling. Functional mechanics. 1863 date on the top of the barrel. 3 cartouches on the left side of the stalk. You usually only see 2, probably just a double stamp on the top cartouche. There are flashes of case color on the frame in protected places around the hammer and recessed parts. There are flashes of original blue on the barrel. Most near the breech end of the barrel in the corners of the wood and up against the frame. The bore is bright and shiny, crisply rifled with a few very fine spots in the bore and a little light scattered surface residue. There is some saddle wear on the right side of the butt stock. I love seeing that on guns, just means it spent a lot of time being carried on horseback. In this serial range it was almost certainly issued during the civil war and in all likelihood converted and had a second life being carried after the war out west. There is a repaired crack to the butt stalk, at the rear end of the saddle ring plate. There is also a repaired crack on the tang, it is even with the first screw on the top of the tang. Gun was probably damaged from an accident on horseback or using the gun as a club. The bottom tang is not broken so probably did not break entirely. The repair is very good and could easily go unnoticed.

INSURANCE: We will only insure through the mail carrier when specifically asked to.
Shipping does not include insurance through courier. We carry our own insurance but there is a $1000 deductible. If you would like your box insured through the shipping company, the cost is $10 and you add an additional $1 for every hundred dollars’ worth of insurance that you want. $1000 insured value = $20. We do our best to package items as secure as we can, in the previous 6 years we have had 3 guns broken (all 3 were muskets) and we have shipped thousands of guns. USPS is difficult to get money out of even if you do insure through the USPS.
Cost: US $1 per $100 in value, plus $10. Ex. $1500 Insurance = $15 + $10 = $25

RETURN POLICY
Money back, less cost to ship, if not satisfied. All sales are allowed a 3-5 business day inspection. Please contact us to make arrangements before shipping any item back for refund. No refund is due until I have received the item and it has been inspected.
You are responsible to send a copy of the invoice or Order Form with a return. This is your receipt, you must send it with the item being returned. Once the item being returned has been received, and inspected, and found not to be altered, your refund will be processed.
