GR79-0423-4655, Cooper Pocket. 5 shot. .31 Cal. Competitor to the Colt 1849 Pocket. In terms of popularity and sales, the Colt 1849 Pocket was a more successful gun than the Cooper Pocket. This was partly due to the fact that Colt’s company was larger and had a better marketing and distribution network. However, the Cooper Pocket did have some advantages over the Colt 1849 Pocket, such as its smaller size and lighter weight, which made it more concealable and easier to carry. The gun here is has a 4 inch barrel. Frankford Phili Address. Clear barrel markings. Serial number 15xx matches on the frame, back strap, trigger-guard, barrel, lever, cylinder and cylinder pin. There is no number on the wedge. It is a replacement. Chocolate brown patina covered most metal surfaces. There are strong flashes of blue on the barrel. Some bright case color on the lever and traces of bright case on the frame. 85% original silver on the brass back-strap. Maybe 5-10% silver on the trigger-guard. Crisp functional mechanics in both DA and SA. Bore is bright with strong rifling and light residue in the bore. It needs to be cleaned. Very good as as bore, may clean better.
