GR79-0521-5152, Society Sword dating to the 1880’s. These swords were often awarded to members of Fraternal Orders made up of Veterans of the Civil War. This sword was presented to a person of note, due to the much better than average quality of the sword and sword belts. The sword shows excellent etched blade with gold wash in places. The initials SWM are on sword, scabbard, knuckle guard, scabbard and belt buckle. The grip is wood with red gem inlay. the belt is leather with hangers showing knights of Templar. All metal parts are tarnished, so hard to tel if silver washed or something else. Metal sword hangers are present and the buckle reads: in hoc signo vinces, Knights SW Michal. The unit comes with a second sword belt, almost identical to the first. With buckle marked differently, OF ST. PETER, KIS, AND PAUL. Comes with sword hangers.
