$2,500.00

GR79-1122-4390, Allen and Wheelock Center Hammer Lipfire Army.  The gun has crisp edges, crisp markings, 6 shot .44 Lipfire.  There are flashes of blue in protected places.  Light bumps, dings and use marks. 70% original grip varnish.  Light bumps to the bottom of the grips where the gun was used as a hammer. The bore is excellent. Serial number 82 on the frame, stamped on the inside of each grip, back of the cylinder, cylinder pin and load gate. Those are the only numbers I could see and they all matched. I believe this is a 2nd model with Narrow Grips. There were only about 250 of these guns made in the early 1860s and they actually precede the Percussion model and would have probably been more popular and produced in mass numbers if it was not for the patent infringement on Allen & Wheelock from S&W. These were really guns ahead of their time in the US market. Very good to fine overall.
